If you love flowers, this place is absolutely perfect for you. Keukenhof is considered as “The Garden of Europe” since it is the world’s largest flower garden located in Netherlands. It covers 32 hectares and approximately 7 million flower bulbs are planted every year.
It’s my first time at Keukenhof and honestly, I’m not a big fan of flowers though I appreciate nature when I go hiking and swimming. I just wanted to visit the place as I heard that this is one of the favorite tourist spots of Asians every spring and summer.
It was a freezing day when we decided to visit the place but it was as crowded as summer. Ticket cost is 16 Euro per person and absolutely worth the price after entering the huge flower garden.
You will be amazed by all the flowers that Keukenhof has – from tulips to roses to orchids and daffodils. You’ll also love the landscapes and the way the garden is maintained. Keukenhof is truly a promising place. I was filled with excitement and feel like a fairy princess walking at every aisle of the garden.
My attention was captured by the cherry blossom tree. It was so magical as it was my dream to be under that tree. (It will be so romantic if you’re on that place with your significant one.) Some people are taking their photos especially the Chinese and Koreans. I was jealous as they looked like they’re not bothered by the breeze of the cold wind.
If you're not up for the cold, there is also an indoor garden.
There are some kiosks selling hotdogs, strawberries, ice cream (even the weather was freezing cold), and the famous poffertjes (Dutch mini pancakes). If you got hungry, don’t worry as it has restaurants inside where you can buy food while relaxing yourself with the view.
You can also feel the romantic vibe in the garden. It has a wedding area where your wife or special girl could take picture wearing a bridal gown. You can also find a cage with a sign that says “I love you to the moon and back” – a perfect selfie spot with your partner.
There are also souvenir shops inside where you can buy a variety of presents for your friends and or love ones. I bought a ref magnet as it is my collection from every
place I’ve been to. Other souvenirs available are mugs, bags, shirts and scarfs with Keukenhof signatures and designs.
