Travel tax is a levy imposed by the Philippine government on individuals who are leaving the Philippines irrespective of the destination where the air ticket is issued.
Q: How much is PH travel Tax?
For economy class, PH travel tax is 1,620 PHP per passenger. As for first class, PH travel tax is 2,700 PHP per passenger.
Q: Who are exempted from paying PH travel tax?
Paying the PH travel tax is a MUST for every Philippine passport holders but one may be exempted if he or she is:
1. An OFW
2. A permanent resident abroad whose stay in the Philippines is less than one (1) year
3. Government official or employee traveling on official business
4. Filipino infant (0 – 24 mos) upon the date of travel
For foreign passport holders, below are eligible for PH travel tax exemption:
1. Transit passenger (flight itinerary includes a stop-over in a PH airport with a waiting time of 0-23 hours)
2. Foreign government official
3. Foreign seamen
4. Foreign students
5. Treaty trader or investor, executive of multi-national company
6. Refugee
7. Holders of special non-immigrant visa, special investor resident visa, Subic special retiree / working visa
Q: I’m trying to book at tripmoba.com. Can I opt not to pay the PH travel tax?
tripmoba.com offers an option to passengers to not pay the PH travel tax. At the final review page, just tick “NO”. However, upon successful booking, one of our customer experience specialists will send an email to request for supporting documents for verification.
Q: Which supporting documents should I submit?

Q: What if I won’t be able to submit supporting documents upon booking my flight?
In case the passenger fails to submit supporting documents on the deadline given, tripmoba.com will cancel the booking and fully return the passenger’s payment.
Q. What if I’m not eligible for PH travel tax exemption and accidentally opted not to pay the tax?
Our customer experience specialist will give you two (2) options to pay the travel tax:
1. Via credit card (an invoice link will be sent to your email)
2. Via bank deposit (our bank details will be provided)
Q: I’m exempted from PH travel tax and accidentally paid for it upon booking. What should I do?
Regrettably, upon the issuance of ticket, tripmoba.com can no longer refund your travel tax payment. You can refund the 1,620 PHP directly at the TIEZA office. Just present your passport and a printed copy of your e-ticket.
Q: I’m booking a flight at tripmoba.com but is it possible to just pay the travel tax directly at the airport on the day of my flight?
tripmoba.com is mandated to collect and remit all due fees and taxes upon the passenger’s booking. If you want to pay the travel tax at the airport, we suggest you to book directly with the airline as we don’t offer this option.
Q: I want to book a domestic flight. Should I need to pay the PH travel tax?
For domestic flights, there’s no need to pay the PH travel tax. It only applies on international flights.
Q: Does PH travel tax apply if I’m going to book a one-way flight from abroad to Manila?
PH travel tax does not apply for one-way international flights inbound Manila. If it’s a round trip flight inbound then outbound Manila, PH travel tax applies.
