Posted by: Rea Mae Olmedo ( Member ) on 2017-09-11
Philippines is always known for having the longest Christmas celebration. When the first -Ber month strikes, you will already feel the Christmas vibe as the country becomes magical during the night with colorful and stunning decorations.

If you want to feel and enjoy Christmas season to the fullest, these are the top places you must visit:

Pampanga

This city hosts the Giant Lantern Festival for more than 80 years. When the Yuletide season comes, the province of Pampanga illuminates with lanterns that are proudly made by the locals. With a relatively mild weather from November to January, it is perfect to feel the chill of Christmas. You can also have a laid back road trip around the province to witness the beauty of the countryside while enjoying the cold breeze.

Itbayat, Batanes

Itbayat is one of the coldest places in Philippines as this is the northernmost town of the country, and thus the furthest from the equator. Itbayat experiences four seasons instead of two. Winter falls between November and February when temperatures crash to 7 degrees Celsius, making Itbayat a top choice for family or barkada getaway to experience the Christmas chill.

Davao City

The home of the tallest peak in the Philippines, Mt. Apo of Davao has lavish greeneries that provides shade and cool breeze even during summer and especially during -Ber months. Staying around will make you freeze especially in the misty morning and will surely make you feel the December breeze. No need to climb up the mountain to feel the cool puff of wind as it is everywhere – perfect to have a relaxing moment while enjoying the view of the fresh and invigorating environment.

Sagada

Have fun wandering in this province under the cool, gentle wind and be astonished with the nature’s beauty. Ideal time to visit Sagada is from the -Ber months up to February next year as the weather is cool and dry with an average temperature around 21-23 degrees Celsius. Sagada is a mountain town so it’s best to experience it at its coldest.

Don Salvador Benedicto

Have a chill vacation in DSB which is also called as the “Little Baguio of Negros” or the “Summer Capital of Negros”. Its temperature falls to a shivery 16 degrees Celsius. Aside from its cool weather, Negros has also an amazing array of food choices, world-class hospitality and quaint lifestyle of the locals, making it one of the most worthwhile destinations to spend Christmas.

Snow World Star City

If you don’t want to travel far or go out of town but wanted to experience the wintery vibe of December, try to visit Star City’s Snow World. This attraction features spectacular ice sculptures, colorful displays and the biggest snow slide in the country. You will be amazed with the decorations that will make you feel that you’re having a real cold, white Christmas.

Trails to Antarctica in Manila Ocean Park

If you want to make your Christmas trip educational, you can bring your kids to Manila Ocean Park’s Trails to Antartica! This attraction has interactive penguin exhibit, fun and exciting Penguin Quest that’ll bring your children closer to the coldest and most mysterious place on Earth. It is really wintery inside the Christmas village so it’s better to bring your own snow gear.

SM Skating Rink

If you’re on a tight budget, you can still feel the Christmas vibe while playing on ice at any skating rink near your home. Have fun skating and frolicking on ice like you are in an icy world with the cold breeze that comes along plus the Christmas songs and all the decorations around.

So where will you be this Yuletide season? Plan your vacation as early as now!
