Pahiyas Festival is one of the country’s biggest, and most colorful harvest festival every May 15th, along with the harvest festivals of the towns of Tayabas, Sariaya, Gumaca and Tiaong. These are to honor San Isidro Labrador, the patron saint of the farmers. They decorate their entire houses and cover it with vegetables, fruits and their original delicacy Kiping. Kiping is made from rice powder, water, salt, and food coloring and shape it in a Kabal Leaf.

Kamay ni Hesus, a 5-hectare shrine, is one of the places to go to when you are in Lucban. As you climb at the top, you will pass by life-sized replicas of distinguished scenes in Holy Bible such as Adam and Eve, The Last Supper, Pieta, and among others.

St. Louis Bishop Parish

Never forget to drop by at San Luis Obispo de Tolosa Parish Church located in the town proper of Lucban. The church was built in 1593 and was rebuilt in 1629 after its first fall off. A fire caused its second deconstruction and was rebuilt from 1738 to 1743 to what it look like at present. The World War II partially damaged the church and was restored in 1966 by the Historical Commission.

Lucban is also famous for its 'pancit habhab'. Pancit Habhab is not your usual pnacit; you have to eat it on a banana leaf without using a fork or any eating utensils. You can also season it with vinegar for a better and flavorful taste. Lucban is where Buddy's Pancit Lucban originated. Now they have reached out to everyone and opened branches all over the Metro. They also serve the mouthwatering longganisang Lucban.

HOW TO GET THERE

The small town of Lucban, Quezon is just 2-4 hour drive away from Manila. Such an accessible place to go, you can take the bus going to Lucena City. Then from Lucena Grand Central Terminal or at SM City Lucena, you can take a passenger jeepney or van to Lucban.
