It's that time of the year to list down the beaches to go this summer. Search no more, as Cagbalete Island will fill you up with lots of Vitamin Sea that you’ve all been waiting for. This island is known for its white sand and clear water, all within 2-4 hours’ drive away from Manila.
Cagbalete Island is located at the small town of Mauban with 1640 hectares wide. Situated east of Quezon province, resting along the waters of Lamon Bay and the Pacific Ocean, the island offers a wide, enormous white sand beach and crystal clear water. If you are fond of snorkeling, beautiful corals, schools of fish and countless starfish will be right before your eyes when you enter its waters. A 45 minute boat ride will get you to another island that is perfect for bird watching activities.

How to get there:
There are two ways to get to the town proper of Mauban. First, you can ride a bus from Jac Liner Buendia going to SM Lucena. The fare is at Php209.50. The earliest trip leaves at 2:00 am. At SM Lucena, you can ride an UV Express van to Mauban. The fare is at 65Php.
Second is riding a bus at Jac Liner Cubao going straight to Mauban; so there’s no need for a van transfer. The second option is preferred by most of the traveler coming from the North area. Before going to the port, make sure to drop by at the Barangay Hall to register your names and pay Php50 for the environmental fee. The Barangay Hall is a bit far from the port, you can ride a tricycle though. Fare is at Php9.00 per person. From the port you just need to ride a Roro to Cagbalete Island, fare is at 50Php. They also offer private boat, price depends on the capacity.
Where to stay:
No need to worry as Cagbalete can offer you the cheapest accommodations. All resorts offer a tent from 600Php – 800Php for travelers. You can bring your own if you're on a tight budget.
