Ins and Outs of Boracay
Story by: jovy avisado ( Member ) on 2015-10-23
Boracay is known as a paradise island because of its powder white beaches and crystal blue waters. It is one of the cluster islands of Panay in the Western Visayas region of the Philippines.

The number one attraction in Boracay is Ariel's Point located in Batason, Buruanga, in Panay Island. This breathtaking adventure consists of five cliff-diving platforms. They offer cliff diving up to 80 feet which can be extremely thrilling. Ariel's Point is the perfect day time venue for travelers since it also lets you do some swimming, snorkeling, and kayaking.

There are various beaches you can try in Boracay such as Yapak beach, Diniwid beach, White beach path, Balinghai beach, Bulabog beach, Iligan Iligan beach, Buruanga beach, Manoc-Manoc beach and many more. All these beaches give you the perfect view of the sunset. Boracay also have luxury hotels like Shangri-la's Boracay Resort and Spa which is located in Barangay Yapak Malay of Aklan. They offer spacious and finely furnished accommodation units that are finished with ethnic Filipino decor. Each room connects to a balcony where guests can relax and see the panoramic view of Boracay Island. Here you can also experience different water activities like scuba diving, banana riding, water skiing, parasailing, snorkeling, skimboarding, paraw sailing, kite surfing, windsurfing, fishing, and even horseback riding.

You'll never run out of activities in Boracay. You can go trekking in Mount Luho or you can visit the bat cave at twilight and witness thousands of bats awake and fly over the White Beach. When you've returned from a day out on the beach, end your day with a sumptuous candlelight dinner by the beach or if you're into the Boracay night life, there are lots of beach parties in Boracay's bars and pubs. Experience the fun and excitement on a party together with your friends and even other people you might get the chance to meet. This is where the fun starts in the Philippines.

How to get there:

By Plane: There are no airports on Boracay Island itself. The most convenient route by air is to fly from the domestic airport in Manila or Cebu to Caticlan, an airport on the neighboring island of Panay. Alternatively, you can fly with Philippine Airlines from Manila domestic airport to Kalibo airport and then take an air conditioned bus from Kalibo to Caticlan.
By Ferry: One way of traveling to Boracay is by taking a ferry from Manila to Caticlan or Dumaguit, near Kalibo.
